What Voters Need to Know
1. Direct Mail Campaign Message
When sending direct mail, let voters know: Jake McCalmon isn’t working for the everyday families of District 63. While he enjoys the privileges of wealth and power, his voting record reveals he’s out of touch with the struggles that regular Tennesseans face.
Here’s what he’s been doing in office:
-
He supported measures that divert money away from public schools, putting our children’s education at risk while favoring private institutions that serve only a few.
-
McCalmon has resisted common-sense gun safety reforms, failing to prioritize the safety of our children in schools and families in our community.
-
He backed the near-total abortion ban, even in cases where a woman’s life is at risk. This dangerous law also threatens access to services like contraception and IVF, showing his disregard for Tennessee women’s healthcare choices.
What’s more, McCalmon’s political career is funded by special interests that don’t represent the values of our community. He’s taken campaign contributions from groups who prioritize profits over people.
Meanwhile, Dr. Laura Andreson is fighting for real change. As a mother and OB/GYN who’s spent decades serving families, she understands what’s at stake. Laura will work to fully fund public schools, ensure affordable healthcare, and fight for reproductive freedoms, putting Tennessee families first—not special interests.
2. Digital Video Campaign Message
For digital videos, make this clear: Jake McCalmon is out of touch with the everyday needs of our community, and his voting record proves it. He’s supported by wealthy special interests who don’t have our best interests at heart.
Here’s what voters need to know:
-
Extreme on abortion: McCalmon backed an abortion ban that criminalizes care even when a woman’s life is at risk.
-
Takes money from special interests: His campaigns are bankrolled by groups that care more about profits than Tennessee families.
-
Fails to invest in our children’s future: McCalmon’s policies siphon money from public schools, leaving teachers and students underfunded and unsupported.
In contrast, Dr. Laura Andreson is:
-
Committed to public schools: Laura will ensure schools are fully funded so every child can succeed.
-
A healthcare advocate: She will restore access to safe, legal reproductive healthcare and fight for women’s rights.
-
Putting families first: Laura stands for eliminating the grocery tax and easing financial burdens, ensuring that Tennessee families—not special interests—come first.

About Dr. Laura Andreson
For 22 years, Dr. Laura Andreson has been an OB/GYN and had the privilege of caring for thousands of women and their families.
Franklin, Tennessee has been Laura's home for the past six years, and she's built her practice here.
In June 2022, when the Dobbs decision was announced, Laura's world abruptly changed. Suddenly, she was at risk of breaking the law by simply providing professional, necessary medical care to her patients.
Laura felt called to make a change. She found a network and a voice; speaking out, talking to legislators, and attending committee meetings at the Capitol.
Despite the fact that a majority of Tennesseans voiced their need to have control over their own reproductive rights, Laura realized our legislators are not listening.
Our legislators also continue to disregard Tennesseans' desperate pleas for help regarding common sense firearm laws, the need for strong support for our public schools, and the rights of the LGBTQ to have access to comprehensive medical care and an expectation of privacy.
With the love and support of her husband, her two sons, and two very spoiled Labrador Retrievers, Laura decided the time has come to truly do everything she can to make change in our state.
It has been Laura's honor to serve her patients in her capacity as an OB/GYN for many years, and she hopes to serve her neighbors, constituents and all Tennesseans, as our next State Representative for House District 63.
